Security Essen Grows Further

Security Essen will once again become the meeting place of international security and fire protection experts. At its most recent meeting, the Advisory Board set the points for the 20th Security Essen. The members of the Advisory Board made a positive assessment of the economic situation in the sector. That is also reflected in the exhibitor figures: At present, the number of registrations is ten percent above the level of the preceding event. Over 1,100 exhibitors are expected and will present their products and services to the trade visitors from all over the world.

No matter whether mechanical security technology, fire protection, IT security, security systems for outdoor sites, video surveillance or security services: A lot of exhibition sections at Security Essen are growing. For example, there will be a second fire protection hall because of the great demand. Companies dealing with preventive fire protection as well as with the early recognition of fires and with fire fighting will show their solutions not only in Hall 1 but also in Hall 9.

Hall 4 will be available to private service providers. Bundesverband der Sicherheitswirtschaft (BDSW - "Federal Association of the Security Industry") and Bundesvereinigung Deutscher Geld- und Wertdienste (BDGW - "Federal Association of German Money and Valuables Services") will also present themselves there with their members in the special show entitled "Protection, Security & Service".

At its meeting, the Advisory Board for Security Essen confirmed its board for another two years. The body will continue to be headed by Uwe Bartmann, Vice-Chairman of Fachverband Sicherheit im Zentralverband Elektrotechnik- und Elektronikindustrie ("Trade Association for Security in the Central Association of the Electrotechnology and Electronics Industry") and Managing Director of the Infrastructures & Cities Sector Building Technologies Division of Siemens AG. Jürgen Junghanns, Member of the Board of Bundesverband der Hersteller- und Errichterfirmen von Sicherheitssystemen ("Federal Association of the Firms Manufacturing and Erecting Security Systems") and Managing Director of Junghanns Security Consulting, as well as Wolfgang Waschulewski, President of Bundesverband der Sicherheitswirtschaft and Managing Director of Kötter Airport Security GmbH, were re-elected as deputies.
