Assa Abloy: Pin-secured Door Handles for Added Security

Photo

Assa Abloy’s access control solution Code Handle is a slim and secure door handle with a built-in Pin keypad. It adds reliable electronic security to almost any interior door without a bulky push-button unit.

The door handle removes the need to track keys or install an expensive access control system: Just one secure Pin code ensures that only authorised people can unlock a door. Users enter their Pin on the handle’s keypad and the door opens, when closing the door, Code Handle locks itself automatically.

Secure and subtle access control
The handle can secure all doors facing a public space: When in use to secure a stock room, medicine store, staff toilet or private office, Code Handle keeps unauthorised people out.

When users install the product, they set a master passcode and can choose nine additional user Pins with four to six digits each. For additional security, the handle blocks automatically when an someone enters a wrong code five times.

Users who prefer manual locking can enter the admin PIN to disable Code Handle’s auto-locking feature. To keep a door open briefly, Code Handle can be held down for 5 seconds and the door will remain temporarily unlocked.

Easy to install
Two screws can fit the Code Handle to almost any interior door. There is no need to cable the door or connect it to the mains; users don’t even need to change the existing door cylinder. With just two standard batteries inside the handle and securing it to the existing cylinder, the product is in place.

Code Handle is tested for at least 100,000 operations and fire-tested to EN 1363. A red flashing LED alert warns users when the batteries need changing.
