Derwent: REG-Z1 Number Plate Capture camera. Derwent announced the release of its REG-Z1 Number Plate Capture camera.

Incorporating proprietary DHC-Imaging technology, the camera delivers definitive high-contrast number plate capture up to 50m (120ft) the furthest operational range in the REG product family.

Based on award-winning technology currently in application at thousands of sites worldwide, the camera operates under any lighting conditions, from total darkness to direct glare from headlights, capturing plates from vehicles moving at up to 120mph (~190kph).

Also featuring an overview camera that captures additional video evidence such as vehicle shape, colour and other identifying details, the camera is precision engineered for critical applications such as automatic number plate recognition (ANPR).
