Future Fibre Technologies: fibre optic sensing technology for perimeter detection

Future Fibre Technologies: fibre optic sensing technology for perimeter detection. The new generation fibre optic sensing technology from Future Fibre Technologies (FFT) “knows” the difference between a tropical downpour and a real security threat such as an intrusion, thereby virtually eliminating the incidence of nuisance alarms.

This major breakthrough in security standards is possible thanks to the company’s patented Alarm Recognition and Discrimination (ARaD) technology, which uses advanced signal recognition techniques to identify different event signals and then classifies them as real intrusion events or nuisance events – without compromising detection capability or sensitivity.

FFT, designers and manufacturers of fibre optic sensing technologies for security applications, has used its extensive experience and knowledge accumulated from more than 100 installations worldwide to develop its multi-parameter approach, in which a number of different time and frequency based features are combined to allow effective classification of apparent threats.

The ARaD technology enables the Secure Fence system to detect a fence climb, cut or lift – even when they occur during a natural event, such as a torrential downpour.
