The validity period of offline authorisations has to be restricted to such an extent that credentials, which have been lost or stolen, become invalid within only a few hours.
Thus, unauthorised access to adequately secured access areas can safely be excluded. That is the way, the network literally moves on to the card and how a rewritable chip transforms into an active security component.
