Iris and Face Detection Advances

TBS Biometrics has introduced the 2D Eye reader, combining an iris algorithm and face detection. The sensor captures the iris of both eyes while the face sensor is used to automatically distinguish the height of the users. Iris recognition is extremely accurate but still not user-friendly. The reader overcomes limitations by combining the best of both worlds. Its face detection interaction is most convenient for users, while its iris-based identification guarantees high levels of accuracy. For even further user convenience, the reader adjusts itself automatically to the height of users. The device also allows multi-modal identification by PIN and RFID. It forms part of the company's Ecosystem and is manufactured by CMITech, a specialist in the biometric iris industry. With a sleek and attractive design, its screen allows for a great deal of interactivity and customization, and notably shows the user themselves during the capture process. The device meets user expectations for 'touchless', convenient and rapid identification. It will find application in corporate offices and airports, from the government sector to healthcare, in research centers and critical infrastructures, wherever security is paramount.
