Key Depot Fire Brigades
Using a fire-brigade key depot, hitherto known as a fire brigade key box, the fire brigade can immediately gain access to the building without having to cause further damage as a result of entry by force.
The SD 04.1 key depot
SeTec has 25 years' experience of design and production of VdS recognised fire brigade key boxes. The new SD 04.1 key depot meets all requirements regarding mechanical stability, burglar-proofing and operator-friendliness:
- Stable 7 mm cast aluminium housing with high-grade steel outer door and frame
- Easily interchangeable inner doors for two-way convertible locks and profile semi-cylinders
- Large safe for depositing further keys, e.g. for alarm-device locks
- Integrated heating
- Removable assembly plate with plaster cladding for easy preparation of concealed installation on site
- High-load blocking element developed by SeTec
Mode of operation
The SD 04.1's high-grade steel outer door is electromechanically locked with the SeTec blocking element. In the event of fire this is automatically unlocked by the fire alarm. The inner door can only be opened using the fire brigade's main key. Inner doors are available for profile semi-cylinders or various two-way locks. In the built-in security block the general semi cylinder with object key is monitored for presence.
Blocking element
Using the simplest of technical means, SeTec has developed a new type of blocking element, which is in particular characterised by its loadability. In experiments in the VdS laboratories this lock has withstood four times the requisite force.
Installation options
The SD 04.1 key depot can be directly anchored to the building wall using the plaster cladding. But where structural conditions to not meet VdS's installation guidelines, e.g. in front of protected buildings, behind fences, in front of glass frontages, in front of sheet-metal panelling, on thin walls etc., SeTec offers an optically attractive column for the key depot made of (brushed) high-grade steel.
The newly designed SD-SL04 key-depot column
As well as the slightly modified design, the new SD-SL04 key-depot column has some important new features. Firstly, the structure and surface have been further refined. The frame of the SD-04.1 key depot now fits flush when installed in the frontage. Secondly, below the depot there is a universal space for the standard free-switching elements. By removing or replacing the flush-fitting blind covering, two different fire brigade emergency key switches can thus far be accommodated.
And last but not least, as from now there are no longer high transport costs for despatch through hauliers. Thanks to the modular construction, we can send the columns divided up into two packages with parcel services such as DHL or GLS. The body and the stand tubes are now no longer permanently connected, and are not assembled until the time of installation.
