Meister Automation: multialert 30 – GSA25 Finalist Shortlist Highlight

Fires break out in companies every five minutes. A defective electrical system is a frequent cause of fires. This is where the multialert 30 comes in, a further development of the multialert mini, which won third prize in the 2024 GIT Sicherheit Award.

The multialert 30 can protect several protection areas and control cabinets together with the AMFE mini fire extinguishers at the same time; it is supplied with 230 volts and operated independently outside the control cabinets. Depending on the situation, it combines up to thirty mini fire extinguishers and smoke detectors, and can be integrated into existing fire protection systems. It is already used to protect the Würth Airport in Schwäbisch Hall, one of the busiest airfields in Germany.

The VdS-approved AMFE mini fire extinguisher can detect fires in control cabinets up to a size of 1.15 cubic metres, and extinguish fires without leaving any residue. For larger control cabinets, modular cabinets, and combinations of cabinets, several R-AMFEs are required. While the 2023 award-winning multialert mini secures the cabinet in which it is installed with a maximum of two connected mini fire extinguishers, the multialert 30 can protect several protection areas and control cabinets at the same time.

The multialert 30 can connect up to thirty fire extinguishers to trigger serial extinguishing, thus combing the following options:

  • Series triggering in the event of fire, e.g. in directly adjacent control cabinets to protect against the spread of fire
  • Higher-level control with storage of individual fire extinguishing logic
  • Connection to central fire alarm system
  • Combination of fire extinguishers with smoke detectors and audio-visual signalsProtects a volume of up to 34.5 cubic metres, fire class A

The multialert 30 is supplied with 230 volts and operated independently outside the control cabinets. Depending on the situation and needs on site, the multialert 30 combines both the R-AMFE mini fire extinguishers and smoke detectors. In the event of a fire, the multialert can also use audio-visual signals to draw attention to the fire and report it to higher-level systems.

After each activation, the system itself is ready for use again thanks to an integrated reset feature. The triggered AMFEs must be replaced. The multialert 30 itself remains operational, thus protecting the lives of employees and reducing the risk of operational failure in the event of a fire.
