Novar: Notifier Self-Test Detector – GSA25 Finalist

The patented Notifier Self-Test detector performs real sensor tests by safely heating the thermistor and by generating real smoke to test the optical sensor. The small fan within the device blows the aerosol from the detection chamber, through the detector’s smoke entry points, into the room.

Each device also incorporates a Bluetooth Low Energy Emitter (BLE). This feature can be used for the visual inspection and in order to provide detailed information of every single device in combination with the Connected Life Safety Services (CLSS) app. It is fully compliant with existing regulations. The detectors are available as multi-criteria, optical and thermal variants.

Having multiple technicians on site for days at a time requesting access to occupied rooms and disrupting day-to-day business is time and cost consuming. With the new NOTIFIER self-test detector, technicians no longer need full access to occupied spaces like elevator shafts, meeting rooms, and restricted areas to conduct a time-consuming smoke test and inspection. Instead, they can execute a functional self-test and then perform a quick visual inspection from outside of the room – saving the hassle of unwanted disruptions.

The self-test detector works with Honeywell’s Connected Life Safety Services (CLSS), allowing users to unlock access to real-time information. Thus, they can stay on top of maintenance schedules, react quickly to incidents, and take appropriate measures – all from a mobile or desktop device.

The new detector also reduces the number of technicians needed on site and the amount of time they spend there, turning a process that typically takes days and weeks into hours and minutes. Bottom line, the new self-test detector is the leap ahead to save time and money for maintenance companies as well as end users.

DEHNventil ACI M: Standard-compliant Surge Protection in Industry

High demands are placed on the availability of switchgear in, for example, industrial plants, data centres, hospitals and large administrative buildings. This makes surge protection essential. At the same time, replacement of the surge protection module should not influence system availability. The new DEHNventil ACI M TNS 264 FM has no backup fuse and is flexible in terms of its application. In the event of a fault, the protection module is safely disconnected and can be quickly removed from the base part from either side or the front. The touch-safe design allows the protection module to be replaced without system downtime. The ACI technology employed also enables connection cross-sections of just 16 mm2. This facilitates installation and saves time.
