6th Edition of TranSec World Expo. Reflecting increasing concern for security across the globe, last June TranSec World Expo 2007 received an impressive 1,589 Heads, Managers and Directors of Transport Security including systems integrators from 49 countries. The event was hailed a huge success and in the following months; an unprecedented 100% of the 2007 stand space was sold for the 2008 edition. Therefore TranSec World Expo 2008 moved venue within Amsterdam to accommodate demand for exhibitor space and will now run 25–26 June at the PTA – Amsterdam.

“Security scares over the past twelve months have emphasised that the global transport infrastructure remains firmly in the crosshairs of those who wish to do us harm,“ comments Peter Jones, Event Director, TranSec World Expo. “It is evident that much needs to be done to ensure the safety and security of international citizens engaged in global travel and enhanced focus on the safe passage of cargo through the supply chain.“

In the drive to identify the key issues and determine the solutions, the annual TranSec World Expo which enters its sixth year plays a mission critical role as the only international conference and exhibition dedicated to the aviation, maritime, rail and supply chain security sectors. The event, brings key thinkers together in conferences and workshops to debate how best to meet the challenges facing the European transport industries, alongside a major exhibition of latest technological solutions from many of the world’s leading systems developers.

“This is the only independently organised event of its kind in the European theatre,” comments Event Director Peter Jones. “In devising this event we have striven to ensure that our main conference presents the key issues and encourages active debate. Similarly, our extensive range of workshops is designed to highlight specific concerns and present a range of mitigating measures.”

TranSec World Expo 2008 will host a series of three major conferences which will be focussed on aviation, maritime and supply chain security, one of the maritime conferences will be staged in association with the (IMO) International Maritime Organisation.
