A+A 2021: Results of the Dusseldorf Safety Fair

Carcinogenic hazardous substances or musculoskeletal disorders caused by work was number one topic

  • A+A Congress and healthy working: pandemic conditions and international supply chains
  • Digitalisation and sustainability: Future Start-Up Zone
  • Impressions of GIT SECURITY: Real-life encounters were again possible and A+A 2023 trade fair will take place from 24 to 27 October 2023

More than 1200 exhibitors from 56 nations and 25,000 trade visitors from all parts of the world took part in A+A 2021 hybrid congress and trade fair.

A+A Congress and healthy working: New work, mobile working and problems caused by digitalisation in the workplace

The A+A Congress was held in a hybrid format for the first time. Around 1500 visitors listened on site and online to the contributions of 300 speakers from research, politics and, of course, the industry.

Dr. Christian Felten, Executive Director of the Federal Association for Safety and Health at Work (Basi), was also satisfied: “In the context of the current pandemic conditions, we concentrated on essential topics. Important were classic areas such as exposure to carcinogenic hazardous substances or musculoskeletal disorders caused by work. However, the audience’s interest was equally focused on topics such as safe and healthy working in international supply chains, new work, mobile working and problems caused by digitalisation in the workplace.”

Next to Digitalisation and Sustainability: Exoskeletons and how they reduce muscular and skeletal strain

Decisive focal points that will have a significant influence on future developments were “digitalisation” and “sustainability”. These topics will have a significant influence on future developments not only in the area of occupational health and safety. Trade visitors were able to see solutions for the future in the Start-Up Zone, among other places. This year, the focus was particularly on the topic of exoskeletons and how they reduce muscular and skeletal strain and increase performance.

Impressions of GIT SECURITY: Trade fair provided spacious corridors

Lisa Holland, Deputy Editor in Chief at GIT SECURITY EMEA, says: “Everyone seemed happy that after a long time of little personal contact there were real-life encounters again with exhibitors, experts and visitors. Still, the trade fair had to provide spacious corridors and larger distances between the booths – which was implemented very well. Most of the exhibitors we visited reacted positively to the quality of meetings. In some personal conversations the word “black box” was mentioned, because none of us really knew what will come out of the fair after such a long time of distancing. That’s why we are happy to come back to the fair from 24 to 27 October 2023.”
