What does a Hackathon, Bosch Connected World in Berlin and the new German Amazon Series of Matthias Schweighöfer ‘You are Wanted’ have in common? A lot! Not only was the premier of the Bosch conference and the Amazon Series on the very same day, they both tie in with the same topics: Interconnectedness and Cyber Security. One pays tribute to the topic on an industrial level whereas the other one works with the private perspective.
When Dr. Volkmar Denner, CEO of Bosch, opened Connected World 2017 at 9.00 in the morning, he declared the official motto of the conference: “Taking IoT to the Next Level”.
For Bosch, the dream of autonomous action, artificial intelligence does not seem all that far away. At the beginning of 2017, Bosch invested 300 million euro to built-up an artificial intelligence center. It is a declaration of strength against Google and Tesla: ‘Automated driving makes roads safer. Artificial intelligence is the key to that. We’re making the car smart’ says Dr. Volkmar Denner. For driving should be more secure and the car should be more intelligent. Nvidia is the new partner for these plans. Bosch wants to include Nvidia’s expertise for building the core onboard computer. Nvidia will supply Bosch with a chip that stores algorithms, generated with machine learning methods. The AI onboard computer is expected to go into production by the beginning of the next decade at the latest.
So, future machines shall be more similar to human beings than before: capable of learning, intelligently interpreting and capable of making predictions.
What are the main statements of the event and what influence does the development of intelligent processes have on the Security Indusrty?
Here are GIT SECURIT’s three take-home messages: 1. The Blockchain Revolution, 2. Cloud Storage, 3. IoT and Security?
