Security Russia takes place together with Interpolitex exhibition. The first ever ‘Security Russia’ event will take place in Moscow between 27 and 30 October 2009 together with the ‘Interpolitexexhibition. A cooperation agreement was signed between the Messe Essen and the Russian event organizer Bizon during the recent ‘Security’ exhibition in Essen.

The creation of the new event at the All-Russia Exhibition Center is well justified as some sectors of the Russian security market are growing at a phenomenal 35 percent annually. “We provide our exhibitors an excellent opportunity to make serious new contacts with the Russian market and to develop existing ones,” commented Egon Galinnis, Director of the Messe Essen, on the significant potential that participation in the Security Russian event will offer to internationally oriented companies in the security and fire protection industry.

A number of Russian state authorities support the Interpolitex and international organizations such as NATO and Interpol will be present too.

In fact, this event is the only security gathering that enjoys state recognition and is presented by official decree of the Russian government. This solid presence provides an ideal platform on which to base the new civil-based ‘Security Russia’ event.

Mutually Beneficial Partnership

According to Galinnis, they have found the ideal partner in Bizon, the Russian exhibition organizer that has already arranged the Interpolitex for the last twelve years. “The combination of the Security Russia and the Interpolitex events provides the best starting conditions for our new foreign project.”

While the 13th international Interpolitex event concentrates on technologies and equipment for state security, the simultaneous Security Russia event will handle all aspects of civil security. Visitors will be able to view the latest developments in, amongst others, building fire protection, fire alarms and detection systems, intruder alarm and control systems, personal protection equipment, document and property protection devices, special vehicles and equipment together with terror and catastrophe protection.

“This is an ideal complement to Interpolitex which, with 50,000 visitors and over 500 exhibitors, ranks amongst the most important events for state security in Europe,” said Oleg Werner, Deputy Director of Bizon at the signing of the agreement. “Together with Security, the leading international civil security exhibition, we make a strong team.”

Apart from the rapidly increasing general market demand, Werner also sees the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sotchi as a significant business driver. “Security technology is in great demand in Russia, and of course also in conjunction with this world event.”

Founded 70 years ago, the All Russian Exhibition Center in Moscow now hosts 150 exhibitions annually, around 30 of which are international. Visitors and exhibitors alike can choose from a comprehensive list of services, backed by an experienced organizing team.

Charging and Storing Lithium-Ion Batteries Correctly

Lithium-ion batteries offer many advantages. They are long lasting, have a high energy density and are only slightly self-discharging. The batteries are therefore particularly practical for many devices in the industrial sector as well as in security technology. However, one thing should always be borne in mind: Lithium and many of its compounds are highly flammable and highly reactive. Certified and GS-tested type 90 safety cabinet models enable the highest safety requirements to be met when storing and charging lithium-ion batteries.
