We are proud that Mr Volker Zintel is one of our prominent authors. His most recent contribution to the subject of airport security appeared as an interview in our publication GIT SECURITY + MANAGEMENT. Volker Zintel has been the general manager responsible for the “Airport Security Management” strategic business area at Frankfurt airport since 2007. Mr Zintel is responsible for all activities at the Frankfurt site relevant to security. These activities make a decisive contribution to the security of more than 50 million passengers who use Frankfurt airport each year.

Mr Zintel worked in management positions with the Hessian police for two decades, and was mayor of the town of Hochheim am Main between 1984 and 1990. He started work at what was then Flughafen Frankfurt Main AG in 1990 as manager of the Air Security Department. Between 1997 and 1999, he took on department managerial roles, initially in the “Passage, Trade and Services” department, and then from 1999 was department head of the “Traffic and Terminal Management” strategic business area, which he managed on a temporary basis from April to December 2003. He was subsequently the general manager responsible for the strategic business area of “Air Traffic and Terminal Operations, Expansion and Security”. Volker Zintel took over the management of the “Airport Security Management” business area when it was founded.
