Securing the Port of Tarragona

The Spanish port of Tarragona with its strategic location on the Mediterranean Sea and proximity to the country's largest petrochemical facilities is a key Centre for the distribution of materials, goods, and services, including oil and chemical products, manufactured goods, agricultural products and cruise ship traffic.

The deepwater port features large loading areas, specialised terminals, storage silos and connections to road in railway networks. It covers over 2,500 acres and has over 19 kilometres of birthing lines. In 2013 the Port Authority of Tarragona decided to reassess its approach to the world's rapidly changing security challenges. Miguel security systems was awarded the contract to design and deliver a comprehensive unified security solution, including a state-of-the-art command center.
