ADT Fire and Security, a Tyco International company, announced the appointment of Andy Ellis as Managing Director of ADT UK and Ireland, the region's provider of electronic protection services for homes and businesses. Mr. Ellis succeeds Brian McDonald, who recently became Chief Operating Officer for Tyco Fire Protection Services.

Mr. Ellis joined the industry as an engineer in 1984 and has risen through ADT by excelling in a number of roles of increasing responsibility across ADT's UK and European region businesses. In each position he demonstrated his value as a customer-focused, results-driven leader. Since 2005, he has led approximately 1,100 ADT employees and been instrumental in the growth of ADT's residential business in the UK.

"Andy's leadership and contributions have been a key driver behind the solid business performance of ADT UK and Ireland in recent years. He has the experience and determination to execute ADT's many growth initiatives in the region," said Naren Gursahaney, President, Tyco Security Solutions. "Having worked at all levels of the business, Andy thoroughly understands what makes ADT a market leader as well as the high standards of service that our customers expect us to deliver."

"I am looking forward to leading an extremely talented team of ADT people throughout the UK and Ireland," said Andy Ellis, Managing Director of ADT UK & Ireland.
