AS&E Appoints New Chief Scientist for Detection Technology

AS&E announced today that Dr. Aaron Couture recently joined the Company as Chief Scientist. In this role, Dr. Couture will lead the Company’s R&D strategy and will help identify and drive strategic opportunities in new and existing markets for the Company’s growing portfolio of unique detection imaging solutions.

Leveraging his broad detection imaging expertise — which includes X-ray as well as other technologies — and entrepreneurial approach, Aaron will help grow our business by championing the development of AS&E technologies and products that extend our reach into new markets and geographies.”

Dr. Couture has more than 14 years of experience developing detection imaging platforms and modalities and holds a dozen patents, with several more pending. He joins AS&E from GE Global Research, where he served as Senior Scientist and Technical Project Lead, responsible for multi-disciplinary teams developing innovative detection solutions for security, industrial, and medical applications using X-ray, computed tomography (CT), and other technologies. Dr. Couture completed post-doctoral studies at Cornell University and has authored numerous scientific publications, primarily in the area of digital X-ray detectors. He earned a Ph.D. in physics from Cornell University and a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
