Hikvision, a world leading supplier of video surveillance equipment, has installed an IP surveillance solution at Saudi Arabia's premier jewellery store. During the implementation process at the Al Fitaihi Holding Group's store in Jeddah, Okaz International oversaw the installation of 75 cameras and six 32 channel NVR's.

The 'Fitaihi Center Jeddah' is the company's leading retail outlet and is situated at the heart of the city's commercial district. It houses the company's principal jewellery department with its most valuable pieces on display. Ensuring that the security system minimized the risk of theft was imperative but it also had to be as discreet as possible to blend in to the aesthetics of the surroundings.

Mr. Mohan, the executive manager of Okaz International, explains, "Although our client completely understood the importance of investing in technologically advanced, high quality CCTV equipment, one of their major considerations was the absolute necessity of ensuring that the CCTV cameras were as unobtrusive as possible, complemented the existing prestige décor, and could be installed with as little disruption as possible."

The installed system has 75 Hikvision 3 megapixel DS-2CD754F-E(I)(Z) 1080p full-HD indoor dome cameras, each installed with Hikvision's DS-1227ZJ in-ceiling mount to minimize their impact on the high standard decoration. The 75 IP cameras are linked to a central control room containing six DS-9632NI-RT NVRs.

"This first collaboration between the Al Fitaihi Group, Okaz International and Hikvision, has been a great success and a large part of this is due to the very high quality of the Hikvision products," continues Mr. Mohan. "It is fitting that Al Fitaihi's exceptionally valuable jewellery is being watched over and protected by some of the world's most advanced technology. Having secured Al Fitaihi's most prominent store in Saudi Arabia, we are already evaluating other opportunities to place Hikvision products in their branch stores as well."
