Security Essen will celebrate its 40th anniversary and will once again present itself as the impetus-providing world's premier fair. Global challenges and the latest trends in the security sector will bring out new highlights in September. Top subjects will be: IT security, intelligent Smartphone solutions, travel security and special vehicles.

With a bigger exhibition area and a large number of early bookers, Security Essen is continuing its growth course. On September 23 - 26, well over 1,000 exhibitors from around 40 nations will be expected at Messe Essen. For the first time, they will represent more than 40 market segments - from mechanical security technology via fire protection, security for outdoor sites and CCTV right up to terror prevention. The attractions at the fair will include spectacular tests, live demonstrations, workshops and expert forums.

With bated breath, the specialist world is looking forward to the innovation stimulus to be expected. Security Essen will be the international stage for product premieres. One particular highlight will be the presentation of the "security innovation award". The best new products and services will be honoured with the "Oscar of the Security Sector".

Klaus-Peter Regiani, Fair Director, is expecting a strong anniversary year: "We will take up absolutely topical subjects such as cyber security." In 2014 as well, this section will be intended to address the subject of the challenges of IT security with its own specialist forum. "Our future subjects such as the Security Research Area or the Training and Further Education Day will open up exciting perspectives for the whole security industry," Regiani stressed and announced: "Sectors with strong growth will be given considerably more space at the fair in 2014."

With no fewer than three large cooperative booths, the security service providers will grow substantially. Involved for the first time: a cooperative booth of Bundesverband der Sicherheitswirtschaft ("Federal Association of the Security Industry"). The special show entitled "Protection, Security & Service" will move into the larger Hall 6 together with the security vehicles.

As the most important marketplace for security and fire protection, Security Essen most recently attracted 39,000 trade visitors from 115 countries. Over 80 percent were purchasers and decision takers. The biggest groups of visitors are provided by industry, the skilled trades, commerce, the guarding sector and authorities. Keen interest from banks and insurance companies is also emerging for the anniversary year.
