Siemens Building Technologies: danger management system for petrol refinery specialists Naftec. Siemens Building Technologies has supplied and installed a danger management system to protect a series of refineries and harbour dockside areas in the port of Algiers.

The installation for petrol refinery specialists Naftec saw a Siemens MM8000 danger management station used to manage a range of different sub-systems which contribute to the protection of two harbours and three refineries – Alger, Arzew and Skikda.

The station provides a clear and concise method of dealing with an emergency situation from a single, centralised point and is ideally suited to potentially high risk sites such a petrol refineries which are spread over a wide area – in the case of the Algiers application, almost 500 hectares.

The system displays alarms, messages and the current status of all connected systems in a uniform, clearly organised manner.
