Tyco announced the appointment of Stephen Wasdick as Vice President, Global Communications. In this role, Mr. Wasdick serves as the company's chief communications officer, with global responsibility for external communications, media relations, internal communications, marketing, web and social media strategies. He also serves on the company's Executive Council. Based in Princeton, N.J., he reports to Judith Reinsdorf, Executive Vice President & General Counsel.

"We are pleased to have Steve join us in this key role," said Ms. Reinsdorf. "In particular, his experience directing a range of external and internal communications initiatives for companies in transition will be an asset as Tyco continues its transformation into an operating company."

"We have made good progress in the first year of our growth strategy as a pure-play fire and security company, and we look forward to Steve's leadership in supporting our strategy with effective communications both inside and outside the company," said Tyco Chief Executive Officer George Oliver.
