BBH Products: SMX Safety System. SMX is an “intelligent” TÜV-certified safety system (EN 61508 SIL 3 and EN 13849 PLe) for the safety of persons and machines in industry and in the workplace.

For example, for the first time it enables dangerous machines or robots not only to be locked away and switched off - which may lead to bypassing or “outwitting” of the safety system, but also monitors safety for the movement of a machine or plant.

It guarantees safe movements, e.g. through safe speeds and “careful” movement. This realises a new and more effective consideration of the design of machines and plant, as a direct cooperation between man and machine is made possible.

All functions of EN 61800-5-2 are implemented for any kind of drive unit.
