Bosch – Taking video security to the extremes

When it comes to safety and security everyone deserves to live in a safe and secure environment. This is why Bosch pushes the boundaries of technology to develop intelligent network video security solutions that constantly raise the bar and set new standards in security and data management. It is our goal to deliver highest quality of relevant video images for all kinds of security and safety applications anytime, anywhere. By using built-in cutting-edge intelligence and video analytics, our video systems simultaneously ensure that big video data remains manageable, network strain and storage requirements are minimized, and video data is secure.

Punishing winds, relentless rain, huge temperature fluctuations, clouds of dust or high-impacts. - No matter how tough conditions get, a video security operation must always go on. Without interruption and with minimum on-site-maintenance. This is why Bosch has taken extreme measures in continuously developing its robust moving (PTZ) network cameras. We’ve combined all our expertise in mechanical engineering and IP video surveillance into a single solid camera design. The MIC IP starlight 7000 HD PTZ cameras are built to resist practically everything: from heavy weather and high-impacts to fog, dust, intense heat and freezing cold. They are engineered to work in places you never want to go.

Their solid metal bodies withstand high-impact (IK10 rating) or continuous low-frequency vibration (IEC 60068 rating). The MIC IP starlight 7000 HD cameras withstand everything nature can throw at it, like temperatures from -40 ˚C to +65 ˚C or even +74 ˚C according to NEMA-TS2, severe winds and 100% humidity. The superior metallurgy and finish of the MIC IP starlight 7000 HD cameras provide unprecedented protection against corrosion.

Each MIC IP starlight 7000 camera delivers the highest quality of relevant video images in the most challenging environments.

The Intelligent Defog feature, which can be activated manually or automatically, improves visibility when viewing foggy or other low-contrast scenes. The integrated silicone wiper and washer keeps the glass clean and the Window-defrosting function makes sure MIC IP cameras capture the highest quality video no matter how cold it gets. MIC IP starlight cameras provide HD video even in extreme low light conditions (down to 0.0008 lux in black/white mode) and clear color images (down to 0.0077 lux) where other cameras would have already switched to monochrome. Fast moving objects can, depending on the model, be captured in 720p HD resolution up to 60 frames per second or in 1080p HD resolution up to 30 frames per second. The excellent dynamic range of the cameras of up to 120 dB and intelligent backlight compensation technology ensure that (moving) objects of interest can be easily identified in scenes with simultaneously bright and dark areas.

Video can get shaky when zoomed in at high detail; this is dynamically reduced by the built-in Image Stabilization technology, resulting in exceptional image clarity and stable shots on the surveillance monitors. The built-in Intelligent Dynamic Noise Reduction technology saves up to 50% bitrate at the source, which significantly reduces storage costs and network strain without compromising video quality. The optional VIDEOJET connect 7000 allows users to use Dynamic Transcoding technology from Bosch, giving instant 24/7 access to smooth live streaming video and high resolution images of up to 12 megapixel on mobile devices, regardless of available bandwidth.

Because they operate in such harsh environments, Bosch has specifically designed the MIC IP starlight 7000 HD cameras to be heavy duty but light on maintenance. Remote firmware updates can be done from anywhere. The virtually indestructible housing and the self-cleaning ability prevent service visits to the critical locations the MIC IP starlight 7000 HD cameras usually operate.

Easy installation

The out-of-the-box installation allows installers and system integrators to pre-program the MIC IP starlight 7000 HD camera while it is still in the box. Thanks to MIC DCA mounting accessories the installation becomes even easier. Simply ‘hook’ the MIC to the DCA mount using the hinge feature and safely connect the electrical wires to the camera. The optional VIDEOJET connect 7000 supports High Power over Ethernet to connect multiple MIC IP 7000 HD cameras, which makes it an ideal configuration for installations along perimeters or highways.

Despite extreme locations and lighting conditions, the MIC IP 7000 HD family provides you with the best possible image all the time. Thanks to the optional illuminator, objects as far as 300 meters away in complete darkness are captured perfectly. Losing track of objects of interest is simply not an option. The built-in Intelligent Video Analytics technology ensures Intelligent Tracking, which automatically tracks moving objects based on predefined alarm rules or a simple click. By intelligently distinguishing between single and multiple reference points, Intelligent Tracking will provide uninterrupted tracking.

Intelligent Video Analytics and MIC IP starlight 7000 HD cameras the ideal combination

Intelligent Video Analytics is specifically designed for the most demanding environments, a state-of-the-art solution for the ultimate in video analytics. Ideal for mission-critical applications like the perimeter protection of airports, critical infrastructures and government buildings, border patrol, ship tracking and traffic monitoring (e.g. wrong-way detection, traffic counts, monitoring roadsides for parked cars). What makes Intelligent Video Analytics stand out from the other video analytics solutions is its ability to differentiate between genuine security events and known false triggers such as challenging environments with snow, wind (moving trees), rain, hail, and water reflections. Or applications that require video content analysis over large distances. Cameras with Intelligent Video Analytics are also extremely resistant against shaking caused by punishing winds, city traffic or bicycles parked against the camera pole. All situations that could make video data more difficult to interpret.

The MIC IP starlight 7000 HD cameras endure just about anything and truly take video security to the extremes.
