With the Panomera S4 Perimeter Dallmeier has developed a new camera solution for perimeter protection. The Panomera S4 Perimeter, a multifocal sensor system, combines four sensors in one optical unit and thus achieves an effective resolution of 200 megapixels per system. This means that a single Panomera system can monitor a perimeter of up to 200 metres in length with consistently high detail resolution. Compared to conventional solutions, significantly fewer cameras and infrastructure are required, significantly reducing both installation and operational costs.

To reliably detect intruders in such “sterile zones”, the Panomera S4 perimeter combines two AI-based analytics systems. A neural network specially trained for perimeter scenarios (“Perimeter AI”) detects unusual movement patterns – such as people crawling or crouching – and recognises even well-disguised intruders (e.g. in ghillie suits) where conventional video analytics often fails. At the same time, advanced AI-based tamper detection monitors the system and alerts in the event of sabotage attempts, such as twisting, covering or spray-painting the camera, blinding it with laser light and deliberately obscuring the field of view. The interaction of the two AI systems ensures optimal detection of intrusion attempts with a minimum error and false alarm rate.

The system also uses a combination of 4 highly light-sensitive sensors to achieve a very high dynamic range, delivering detailed images of distant objects even in low light. The result is a powerful yet resource-efficient surveillance system for buildings and perimeters. The combination of multifocal camera technology and dedicated AI networks makes it possible to protect even high-security areas – including critical infrastructure – efficiently and reliably.
