DEHNsense EFD: More Safety When Working on Electrical Installations

As an additional measure to the five safety rules, the detector significantly increases safety when working on electrical systems. Accidents caused by human error – such as when an electrically skilled person accidentally approaches the wrong energised switchgear installation – can be avoided. The DEHNsense EFD can be used in indoor installations and outdoors even in wet weather (IP degree of protection 65). The detector is easy to operate and can be worn variably on the wrist or helmet. The response sensitivity of the EFD can be adapted to the specific installation via the DEHNwork app to avoid false alarms.

The portable voltage alarm can be used worldwide in electrical switchgear installations and on overhead line networks. It can be used for nominal voltages between 6 kV – 420 kV / 50 Hz – 60 Hz. Its sensitivity can be set in advance via the DEHNwork app. The system-specific response value is selected according to the conditions on site. If the EFD is switched on, it outputs an alarm as soon as it detects a dangerous electric field. A visual, acoustic and haptic warning is given. It serves as additional safety information for electrically skilled persons when maintaining electrical systems. However, it does not replace the 5 safety rules as per DIN EN 50110-1 (DIN VDE 0105-100) that apply in this area.

DEHNsense EFD is light and compact and can be worn on the wrist or helmet as required. It can be operated safely with gloves. All data can be conveniently set and displayed in advance using a smartphone or tablet (iOS or Android). The DEHNwork app can also be used to activate system profiles, create new ones and adapt them to the current system conditions. The DEHNwork app can be used to scan a QR code that has been generated for a specific system and transfer the individual response value to the EFD without contact. All important events are logged in the DEHNwork app for easy documentation.

DEHNventil ACI M: Standard-compliant Surge Protection in Industry

High demands are placed on the availability of switchgear in, for example, industrial plants, data centres, hospitals and large administrative buildings. This makes surge protection essential. At the same time, replacement of the surge protection module should not influence system availability. The new DEHNventil ACI M TNS 264 FM has no backup fuse and is flexible in terms of its application. In the event of a fault, the protection module is safely disconnected and can be quickly removed from the base part from either side or the front. The touch-safe design allows the protection module to be replaced without system downtime. The ACI technology employed also enables connection cross-sections of just 16 mm2. This facilitates installation and saves time.

HVI Light Plus for Lightning Protection Applications

When installing bare, uninsulated air-termination conductors on the roof, the separation distance to electrical and metal systems installed under the roof surface must be maintained in accordance with the current lightning protection standard DIN EN 62305-3. Cable installations, pipe systems or metal parts are frequently installed under the roofing in direct proximity to the air-termination system / down conductor, thus posing a proximity issue. The solution is isolated air-termination systems with high-voltage-resistant, insulated down conductors.
