detectomat: Seal Protect Technology

detectomat: Seal Protect Technology. detectomat has utilised the latest technology to develop a remote maintenance feature for its new range of self-contained smoke alarms, which provides self-testing in compliance with the German norm DIN 14676.

The new technology seal protect developed by detectomat recognises the situation when smoke is prevented from entering the smoke alarm due to the head being covered by dust, insect contamination or masking tape etc. and can communicate this fault condition to a remote alarm station via radio links.

The feature is achieved by detecting a change in the resonance of the smoke alarm, in comparison to a new alarm, generated from an acoustic source within the chamber, which changes when the alarm is contaminated or covered in some way.
