Field evaluation unit

The unicode version of the CES-FD is a small and compact field evaluation unit that is ideally suited for connection of the safe lockout mechanism CKS. Data evaluation takes place directly in the field, requiring no space in the control cabinet.

With the new unicode version, a new, unique actuator must be taught in by the evaluation unit and assigned to it. The safety outputs are switched only if the most recently taught in actuator was detected. The unicode principle provides a high level of protection against tampering.

The proven EUCHNER CKS lockout mechanism, functioning as a read head, is well suited for connection to the new field evaluation unit. Combined with the CES-FD, the electronic lockout mechanism allows hazardous areas to be entered safely.

Before the authorized personnel enters the installation, the unique, transponder-coded CKS key is withdrawn from the key adapter and brought along into the installation. If the safety guard is now closed unintentionally, the installation cannot start, because the valid unique CKS key is not inserted and the safety outputs therefore cannot switch. Unicode evaluation of the unique transponder prevents tampering with another CKS key.

The CES-FD is equipped with two LED indicators for status indication, permitting rapid diagnostics. The CES-FD field unit features the EUCHNER AP interface with short circuit monitoring for the two OSSD safety outputs. Connection of the CES-FD is very simple and fast thanks to plug connectors. Direct connection to a decentralized peripheral device such as the SIMATIC ET200pro or ET200s is also possible.

The complete system meets the requirements from EN ISO 13849-1 with PL e / Category 4. The compact housing design, the robustness of the CES-FD and the high degree of protection IP67 permit use in very harsh environments and space-saving installation in the field.

EUCHNER – More than safety.
