Measuring 30x30x94.5 mm, with a volume of only 85 cm3, the RFID safety switches with lock of the NX series are according to the manufacturer the most compact on the market. Suitable for every kind of installation, even in reduced spaces, they ensure the highest safety levels PL e, SIL 3.Thanks to their bistable operating principle, NX series safety switches enable significant reduction of energy consumption levels as the electromagnet installed in the lock does not require a continuous power supply to perform its function.

The internal solenoid that locks and unlocks the device does not operate in the normally de-energised or normally energized mode, but it is stably in the locked or unlocked position (bistable mode). The command for locking and unlocking continues to follow the "power-on release" logic: as long as voltage is applied to the activation inputs of the solenoid, the actuator is unlocked. This approach offers numerous advantages, such as the locked or unlocked state being retained even if the device should experience a power failure. Bistable operation of the internal solenoid ensures that the NX switch remains stably in the state to which it was last actuated.

The RFID safety switches with lock from the NX series combine a technopolymer body with a metal head, thus ensuring lightweight as well as strength and maximum reliability. The head features three inputs for the actuator, one on the front and two on the sides, which avoid the need to rotate the head or the switch itself. Just like the head, the actuator is made of metal to ensure maximum protection against impacts and resistance to tension; besides, it is articulated, thus allowing the pin to be safely guided into the switch through the centering hole, even if actuator and switch are not precisely aligned. The illuminated RGB-LED cover on the head of the switch enables an immediate diagnosis of the functional state of inputs and outputs, also from a distance. In addition, the electronic system based on RFID technology allows to provide each actuator of the NX series with different coding, thus avoiding any tampering attempt using another actuator of the same series.
