Premier Electronics: W series Super Wide Dynamic Range cameras

Premier Electronics: W series Super Wide Dynamic Range cameras. The New W series Super Wide Dynamic Range cameras use multi-imaging sampling to render a clear image of both light and dark objects in the same scene.

These SWDR cameras are the first to apply double exposure technology in a security application and achieve a much wider dynamic range.

The camera first takes an image of the dark areas of the scene with a slow shutter speed which is stored in the first of two 16MB memories. Then the camera takes a higher shutter speed shot to acquire the bright areas of the picture and puts this in the second memory.

These two images are then processed and merged by the DSP to produce a correctly exposed picture. This process is then repeated 25/30 times a second to create a NTSC/PAL motion picture with a super wide dynamic image 280:1.
