GfG: portable single-gas detector with data logger. The Micro IV single-gas detector is the successor to the proven Micro III. The key features of the previous model have been retained, and there is now some impressive added functionality.
The Micro series utilizes smart, interchangeable sensor technology and also ensures low cost of ownership by operating continually on just one AA battery for up to six months. The Micro IV contains an integrated data-logger which records and time-stamps all events. This stored data can be transmitted to a PC via either the DI220 data interface station or the DS220 docking station.
Three alarm levels are available (most competing instruments only offer two) in addition to STEL and TWA alarms. The Micro IV has a very loud (95 dB) sounder and high-visibility red LED alarms. A vibration alarm is also available as an option.
The large display ensures that gas concentrations can be quickly and easily read by the user. The single gases which can be detected are O2, H2S, CO, NO, NH3, HCN, HCl, SO2, H2, C2H4O, SiH4, PH3, THT, HF, COCl2, NO2, Cl2, O3 and ClO2.
Working In Real-Time
The new additional functionality of the new Micro IV includes datalogging, and an infrared interface for data communication to docking stations. There is now continuous storage of data without a PC and also a continuous display of gas concentration. As an option, there is a simple bump check and calibration via the docking station. Although the Micro IV is compact and light, it can optionally be securely fastened to the user’s clothing with a durable crocodile clip. A belt clip is also available.
A rubber boot can be fitted to give the instrument further protection in arduous work environments if necessary.
Well Equipped
The list of accessories includes a motorized pump to take samples in inaccessible areas such as tanks and containers that can contain deadly gas mixtures. With the Micro IV, a high-performance pump can be quickly and easily attached that can sample the gas from up to 30 meters away. The pump has its own power supply, which means the run time of the Micro IV instrument is not compromised. The separate AA battery pack gives 8 hours of continuous pump operation.
The innovative DS220 docking station is a complete device management system that saves the user costs and time by performing functional tests (bump tests), calibration and documentation in one device. It is compact and portable and does not require a PC to operate.
Permanent Record
When inserted into the DS200, the detector is automatically bump checked. Alarm functions and sensor response are tested to ensure correct operation. Calibration reports can be printed out via a PC if required. The data is transferred from the detector to the DS200 via IR link and all data is recorded on a memory card.
Back in the office, it can then be transferred to PC via a USB cable and evaluated directly in Excel. The DS200 uses simple traffic-light indicators to show the user the detector status – green means go, yellow means that testing is in progress and red means that the test has failed.
The device will ensure that detectors are in a safe condition and always ready to go.
