Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority (CCRTA) has chosen Basler IP Cameras and Fluidmesh Networks wireless surveillance components to secure their extensive premises in the City of Hyannis, Massachusetts. Integrator Kratos Public Safety & Security (PSS) and network system design company Systems Synergies, LLC worked together in creating and coordinating the implementation of this complex project.
The project's objective was to cover all interior and exterior areas of and around the building as well as adjoining streets in order to curtail criminal activity, liability issues and loitering in and around their buses. The surveillance system also needed to meet the requirements of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
A team of engineers implemented a comprehensive surveillance solution, consisting of approximately 40 Basler 5 megapixel BIP2-2500c-dn cameras operating on two different Fluidmesh 1100 Mito and 3100 Mito radio networks. While the Basler cameras deliver highest forensics-quality, high-frame-rate megapixel images, Fluidmesh provides the reliable radio network necessary to handle the large amount of data to accommodate all the bandwidth required on the campus.
CCRTA is pleased with the result of this team effort. "The quality and reliability day and night and in all weather conditions has been remarkable." states Matt Kolva, CCRTA's Facility Manager. "The quality of the live and recorded images and the system-wide reliability are proving to be superior to anything we have used in the past."
