Belgian Hospitals Choose Raytec for Top Security Operation

Two of Belgium's biggest hospitals have selected Raytec LED technology as part of a full lighting and security upgrade, which includes bespoke LED solutions for areas outside of the usual CCTV remit.

Raytec offer a full portfolio of LED illuminators for any application, and the hospitals have utilised both Infra-Red and White-Light, internally and externally for both security and safety critical purposes.
The LED lighting design, specification and installtion at the UZA & UZG University Hospitals in Antwerp & Gand, were handled from start to finish by Raytec integrator and manufacturer of security technologies, Elbex Technologies Belgium.
RAYMAX Infra-Red lighting has been installed in conjunction with Elbex camera technology to deliver improved night-time surveillance around the external perimeter and key areas within the hospital grounds. The RAYMAX units provide powerful, covert illumination up to 370m, delivering black and white images with excellent clarity and detail which are perfect for identifictaion purposes.
RAYLUX White-Light illuminators are being used alongside the Infra-Red technology to provide deterrent lighting on activation, to warn off criminal activity. RAYLUX White-Light is also being used to provide general area illumination for pedestrian and vehicle safety, providing excellent visibility thanks to its cool white accurate colour output.
Internally, both low voltage and PoE Infra-Red LED lighting is being used for discreet monitoring of key hospital areas, including intensive care and cardio units. Quick and easy to install, the units allow the internal camera system to capture the best images 24/7 and help ensure patient care and safety.
"Security and safety is paramount for the hospitals and there can be no compromise with quality - which is why we chose Raytec products," explains Bjorn Saerens, Sales Manager of Elbex Technologies. "We needed to ensure the very best image capture both for live monitoring and playback."
All Raytec LED lighting products offer the benefits of low power consumption, long life and zero maintenance. This is allowing the hospitals to save significant amounts of energy, as well as further running and labour cost savings.
Now, following the success of these two flagship installations, a comprehensive camera and lighting solution is being planned for a new-build maternity and paediatric facility.
"We need to deliver the best pictures possible, to help in the operation of the hospitals as well as with security - so again we will use a combination of Elbex cameras and Raytec lighting technology," confirms Bjorn Saerens.
