Belgium-based Betafence Group has opened a new Regional Head Office and Showroom in the Middle East at Dubai Airport Freezone. The company's current expansion in the Middle East follows a 22% growth that it achieved in the region in 2010.

The Regional head office and showroom of Betafence Middle East was inaugurated by Dr. Mohammed Al Zarooni, Director General of Dubai Airport Freezone and Mr. E Renson, Commercial Economic Attache, Belgium Embassy. Mr. Michael Rodenburg, Betafence's Commercial Director for Non-European markets, Mr Christophe Michee, Sales Director Middle East together with several other key executives of Betafence and Dubai Airport Freezone were also present.

The opening of the new Regional Head offices and showroom, which occupies an area of approximately 2368 sq ft, comes just a month before the company celebrates its 5th anniversary of operations at Dubai Airport Freezone on March 6. The inauguration also coincided with the commencement of the Non-European Market's Annual Sales Meeting in Dubai, which brought together its sales directors and managers representing countries from the Non-European markets of Betafence, which includes the Middle East. The meeting discussed the 2010 results, the 2011 budget and a new development strategy for Betafence in the Non-European markets with a special focus on becoming a Total Solutions Provider directly for the end users.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dr. Mohammed Al Zarooni, praised Betafence for continuing to pursue its growth strategy from its regional hub in Dubai Airport Freezone inspite of the global economic turbulence in the past few years: "I would like to congratulate Betafence not only for its current expansion but also for five years of successful operations at Dubai Airport Freezone. Our alliance with Betafence is of great significance, and has been further strengthened because of its role in providing unique world-class solutions and products that further enhance the safety and security of key public institutions and infrastructure across the UAE. Dubai Airport Freezone is home to many multinational companies like Betafence that offer innovative concepts and solutions, and also contribute towards the development of our national economy. As Betafence is our strategic partner, Dubai Airport Freezone is committed to ensuring that it replicates its success in a huge way across the Middle East".

Mr. Christophe Michee of Betafence Middle East office, said: "Betafence is pleased to open this new regional head office and showroom that will support our on-going expansion in the Middle East. The new showroom will provide an excellent opportunity for our customers to meet with us directly and see for themselves the range of Fencing Systems and Security solution (Lighting , Detection , Security obstacle , Access control) from Betafence. We greatly appreciate the whole-hearted support extended to us by Dubai Airport Freezone, and our continuous expansion here is ample proof of our strong and ever growing partnership".

Betafence Middle East is the regional headquarters of Betafence, offering full service as design, technical support and sales & marketing support to existing and potential projects in Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Yemen and UAE. Betafence operates a separate manufacturing entity to handle projects in Saudi Arabia.
