British Security Industry Association: new Fire and Security Strategic Committee launched. The British Security Industry Association and Fire Industry Association have launched a joint Fire and Security Strategic Committee to look at common issues within the two sectors.

BSIA Technical and Membership Services Director, Alex Carmichael, comments: “There is a lot of synergy between the fire and security industries and it makes sense for the leading trade associations for each sector to work closely together on common issues. I look forward to forging an even stronger relationship with the FIA and to working on projects which will benefit both our industries.”

The first project for the committee is a review of the National Occupational Standard for the sectors and to look at revising the existing NVQs.
