Dahua Technology Showcases Smart Retail Solutions at Eurocis in Düsseldorf
From February 18 to 20, 2025, Dahua Technology, a video-based AIoT solutions provider, will showcase its big data analysis tools at the Eurocis trade fair in Düsseldorf, hall 9, stand A61.
When retail stores fall short of their sales expectations, there can be many causes. While, for example, choosing the wrong location is a cardinal mistake that is difficult to correct, other causes of poor business can often be surprisingly efficiently remedied through intelligent analysis of buyer behavior. But even well-performing stores can still be optimized and generate more revenue. Dahua's AI business intelligence solutions support shop operators in transforming their retail business.
While maintaining customer privacy, Dahua offers its partners intelligent big data analysis tools and solutions, including customer traffic analysis, demographic customer analysis, heatmap analysis, and loss prevention.
The Smart Retail Solution

Dahua's smart retail solution continuously collects various in-store metadata and visually presents this information. Based on this, the store layout can be optimized, the shopping experience for customers improved, and staff deployed as efficiently as possible. Dahua demonstrates at Eurocis that such a system does not have to be expensive and complicated: the DDS Pro V8.6 software, a network video recorder, and cameras like the Panorama IR Fish-Eye network camera are sufficient to realize heatmap analysis with AI and efficient queue management.
In daily operations, the intelligent retail solution enables precise control of customer flows, intelligent queue management, and analysis of customer behavior and conversion rates. Customer demographics and in-store customer flow analyses can provide important feedback on how the product range and store layout should be optimized to generate higher sales. Digital marketing displays from the Digital Signage series can influence purchasing behavior through targeted advertising. VIP management is also possible; here, AI opens up new possibilities for customer recognition, VIP services, payment, and personalized advertising.
Minimizing Losses: Theft Detection

In addition to simple people counting, VIP recognition, and heatmap creation, trained AI systems also master theft detection. Opportunities for shoplifting and fraud are prevented by recognizing suspicious persons and taking real-time action. As an additional option, publicly visible monitors in the shelf area or at the entrance can effectively reduce theft and fraud. Outside of business hours, a camera system can prevent break-ins through active deterrence: it detects unauthorized persons and automatically triggers an alarm. Security personnel or a control center can not only drive away potential thieves with an acoustic warning signal and turning on the lights but also address them directly via loudspeakers.
Electronic Article Surveillance: Professional EAS Systems
At the same time, Dahua, as a full-service provider, aims to offer its customers professional security products such as EAS systems (Electronic Article Surveillance) to protect against product theft in addition to video systems. Typically, an EAS system consists of three components: antennas, labels or tags, separators, or deactivators. In modern retail, three types of EAS systems are widespread: acoustic-magnetic (AM), radio frequency (RF), and electromagnetic (EM). Dahua offers a wide range of EAS systems in various frequency bands and materials.
These are just a few examples of what is already possible today with intelligent analysis and surveillance cameras in retail. Dahua looks forward to exchanging ideas with customers and interested parties at Eurocis in Düsseldorf from February 18 to 20 in Hall 9, Stand A61.
