DVTel announced today it has appointed Rony Atoun as Vice President of Research and Development.
Mr. Atoun has more than 25 years of extensive experience in high-tech industries in the fields of telecommunications, networking, defense and enterprise IT products and services, as well as computer vision and image processing. Before joining DVTEL, Mr. Atoun led a cross research and development quality improvement project for retail software solutions at Retalix/NCR. Prior to that, he was Vice President of Research and Development at Expand Networks, General Manager at Pricer ESL & Eldat Communications, Vice President of Research and Development at Comverse Messaging Division, and Research and Development Director for the Israeli Air Industry and Applied Materials Israel. Mr. Atoun holds a Bachelor of Science degree in physics from the City University of New York (summa cum laude) and did post-graduate studies in applied mathematics and computer science at Israel's Weitzman Institute.
In his role with DVTEL, Mr. Atoun will be responsible for driving innovation, research and development, and quality assurance. He also will oversee the company's Applications and Integration Center team, which develops customized video surveillance solutions.
