G4S Technology has recently been awarded Certification to ISO 27001, the internationally recognised standard for information security management systems, demonstrating our commitment to adopt best practice for data security. This is the first time a building security business has attained the award.

As information security breaches are predicted to increase in the future, customers are demanding assurance that their suppliers are securely managing information and ISO 27001 provides this commitment. Stewart Angell, Managing Director, G4S Technology commented: "We always aim to put the needs of our customers first and a fundamental priority is the protection of their data."

Data security management issues particularly affect building security solution providers. Sensitive customer information, including CCTV footage, access control points, cardholder's rights and vehicle details, could potentially all be lost, corrupted, or accessed by non-authorised personnel.

"We endorse the need for ISO 27001 standardisation and we commit to safeguarding information to the highest recognised standard. For complete peace of mind, any business that is serious about managing risk should only work with ISO 27001 Certified companies to maintain operational excellence" Stewart concluded.
