HDcctv Alliance announced today that five new members - Analog Devices, Cop UK, Pacific Corporation, UFINE and Win4Net - have joined the Alliance.

HDcctv-based systems transmit HDTV signals digitally over conventional CCTV media without packetization and without any perceivable compression latency. The HDcctv Alliance has partnered with SMPTE to reference the family of broadcast video interfaces known as HD-SDI to create a derivative standard to enable plug-and-play security systems and equipment that deliver high-resolution, high-definition (HD) surveillance video with no transmission delays, no image artifacts from transmission, with the highest possible signal integrity.

With new members joining from Japan, Korea, England, and the USA, the Alliance is expanding their already significant international presence and diverse array of security products, from component, OEM and branded equipment manufacturers to security sales, support and system installers. New Alliance member Analog Devices is a multinational semiconductor company, headquartered in Norwood, Massachusetts, with design and manufacturing facilities throughout the world, specializing in data conversion and signal conditioning technology. "Analog Devices is constantly evaluating emerging technologies such as HDcctv to determine alignment to our signal processing product capabilities. We are excited to join the Alliance as an actively contributing member and look forward to continuing the process of positioning our existing and potential new product developments for adoption within the burgeoning HDcctv application space " said Michael Long, Analog Devices' security segment manager.

Cop UK, based in North England, with offices in Taiwan, China, Scandinavia and the USA, have supplied and supported more than 2,000,000 products to the security industry in the UK with installations ranging from single-owner/manager companies to large corporations with national installation bases, with an annual turnover in the UK in excess of 10,000,000 USD. "Cop UK believes the HDcctv Alliance represents a major step forward in meeting the ever-increasing demand for higher-quality, higher-resolution CCTV for our customer base that network camera solutions cannot fulfill," said Chris Bentley, CEO Cop UK. "Many of our customers have no networking background and consider network cameras as belonging to the ‘big installers club': too expensive and complicated to install. HDcctv is the logical way forward for small installations that represents a large proportion of the total UK CCTV installation base and fits our customer base perfectly."

"HDcctv ideally suits our customers' requirements for quality and ease of installation, at an affordable price point. Our plan is to be selling Cop UK HDcctv products in the UK by the end of 2010 that will include our own brand cameras and embedded DVRs currently under development. We will also be launching a small range of ancillary items like repeaters to provide our customers with a one-stop solution for HDcctv." Chris added.

Pacific Corporation is the first Japanese company to join the HDcctv Alliance. "By joining the HDcctv Alliance we gain the ability to collaborate with and share the resources of many companies that have the same goal of bringing the highest quality HD video to the main stream CCTV market," said Isao Omata, director of sales, Pacific Corporation. "We can seamlessly work with HDcctv members and component manufacturers to ensure our products meet high performance standards and are interoperable, like our HDcctv zoom camera we will be demonstrating at ISC West which incorporates HDcctv Alliance member AltaSens' wide dynamic range image sensor."

Win4NET, headquartered in Seoul, Korea, manufactures a diverse array of security products including DVR's, HVR's, NVR's, network software solutions, video servers and auxiliary products that include speed dome cameras, storage boxes, housing and bracket, and system equipment. The Trium Security brand, established in 2007 as a separate business entity of Win4NET, Ltd., stands apart as an experienced, professional brand name in the North American security industry. "Joining the HDcctv Alliance is in line with our goals to build a new business foundation based on new products that match the customer's need, combined with extensive promotional campaigns and increased sales," said Chris Wembridge, Win4NET Sales Manager. "HDcctv and Win4NET principles are consistent: that surveillance and physical security products should be reliable, cost effective, and readily integrated into new, or concurrently with, existing installations and procedures."

UFINE Logics & Chips located in Gyeonggi-do, Korea, just released a single-chip image signal processor (ISP) optimized for high-resolution applications including HDcctv cameras. UFINE's ISP chip includes HDcctv interface logic and can process 1080p30 images while implementing such functions as wide dynamic range (WDR), 3D DNR, 3A (AE, AWB, AF), OSD, motion detection, digital zooming and more. Unique functions can easily be added by firmware inside the microcontroller unit (MCU) embedded in the chip. "We believe that joining the HDcctv Alliance provides a good opportunity for UFINE and our customers, who are CCTV camera manufacturers developing HDcctv cameras," said Chang-Hyun, Nam, vice president, UFINE Logics & Chips Co., Ltd. "By implementing HDcctv features in the ISP, UFINE makes it easy for our customers to develop cost-effective HDcctv cameras. Together with our customer partners, we intend to contribute to HDcctv market expansion as an active member of HDcctv Alliance."
