iLoq: Locking Solution for Nokian Vuokrakodit’s Rental Housing Portfolio

Nokian Vuokrakodit Ltd is a non-profit rental housing company owned by the City of Nokia in Finland. The company manages and rents affordable, high-quality homes for existing residents and those moving to the city. The property portfolio consists of about one thousand apartments and terraced houses with space ranging from studio flats to four-room family homes.

iLoq's digital locking solution has already been installed in many of Nokian Vuokrakodit’s existing properties. The customer has been very satisfied with the efficiency of the system, simple administration of the access rights of keys in circulation and the training provided by iLoq's partner.“Maintaining locking security is quick and easy. When a resident loses their key, its access rights are quickly deactivated, to reduce the risk of misuse, and they receive a new key immediately. It is also possible to reduce the number of keys given to a resident. Previously, they needed separate keys for the laundry room, storage area, sauna and bicycle warehouse. Now, all access rights can be assigned to just one key,” explains Tarja Savela, Rental Housing Coordinator, Nokian Vuokrakodit.

In the summer of 2020, iLoq was invited to submit a tender, issued in accordance with an EU procurement notice, to provide a locking system for the Company’s new properties. iLoq successfully won the tender and installation of the products will take place over the next two and a half years.

“Good experience with iLoq's locking system in existing sites influenced this latest acquisition. We look forward to quickly increasing the amount of iLoq locks and keys in our rental property portfolio. The system is reliable, and it maximizes security for our residents while minimizing maintenance and the administration of their access rights,” states Jani Haukkajärvi, Technical Property Manager and Foreman, Nokian Vuokrakodit.
