Lenel Systems announced that its Mobile Monitoring Application for BlackBerry smartphones has been presented with a Wireless Leadership Award at this year's BlackBerry Wireless Enterprise Symposium (WES) in Orlando. The application allows security personnel to review and receive alarms while on patrol, as well as run reports against user transactions directly from a BlackBerry smartphone.

The Wireless Leadership Awards are presented annually at WES to recognize BlackBerry customers, and their partners, for innovation and outstanding business results in wireless deployments. Lenel's Mobile Monitoring application for BlackBerry smartphones was chosen as a finalist in the Private Sector category. Developed by Lenel's Custom Solutions group, this application provides an ideal solution for OnGuard® equipped sites where guards and security personnel are not always located at a central monitoring station. Through this application on a BlackBerry smartphone, they can patrol a facility while being tied into the real-time activities throughout the location.
"We are extremely honored to receive this award", said Luis Orbegoso, Lenel's President. "Our Custom Solutions group has always provided value driven add-ons to our extensive OnGuard installation base. To receive this recognition from Research In Motion (RIM) only validates their value as a group to provide custom add-ons for our OnGuard customer base and present solutions to help businesses more efficiently utilize their existing resources".
