March Networks announced that high-quality surveillance video from its Mobile Solution led Orange County officials to a man suspected in an alleged molestation of a teenage girl on an Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) bus. The successful use of the video evidence marks the third time March Networks technology has been used in recent, high-profile cases to deliver a greater level of protection to communities through the apprehension of suspects.

Clear video from March Networks systems recently led to an arrest and guilty plea in a shooting on a Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) bus, and to the arrest in a separate incident of a man suspected of setting a TTC bus on fire. In the Orange County case, the suspect was identified by a parole officer who recognized him from the clear video footage featured in a TV news broadcast and contacted police.

In a media interview, an Orange County Sheriff's Department spokesperson credited the March Networks mobile system, which was installed onboard the OCTA bus, for helping to catch the suspect, saying, "They have one of the best surveillance systems I've ever seen. We have several angles, and the sound is good." "These events underscore how high-quality video evidence contributes to a swift, effective response when one of these rare incidents occurs," said Ted Bushnik, Business Leader, March Networks Global Transportation Solutions. "Large transportation agencies worldwide rely on March Networks Mobile Solutions for high-performance surveillance and they have repeatedly proven their ability to help agencies better protect passengers and employees, investigate crimes and reduce liability in bus and rail environments."
