MWC 25: Trinamix GmbH And ST Present Face Authentication Solution With An Upgrade
Trinamix GmbH, a leading provider of biometric imaging solutions, showcases its face authentication Solution at 2025 MWC taking place from March 3rd to 6th. The main purpose of the basic solution is to keep valuable data safe against fraud, third-party access and leaks. It even does so, while all necessary hardware is invisibly mounted behind an OLED display. The solution is the first of its kind to erase the need for a smartphone notch and instead allow for sleek, full-screen display designs.
Certified according to highest biometric standards – thanks to a passive liveness check that can differentiate between a real, physically present human and an ultra-realistic mask or AI-generated deepfake - Trinamix GmbH's face authentication secures sensitive applications. The unlock duration is less than 250 ms and the liveness detection performs without active contribution of the user – granting a touchless, frictionless authentication procedure. The solution can be integrated behind OLED displays and allows manufacturers of consumer electronics to create modern full-screen designs without notch or punch hole. The combined software/hardware setup is easy to integrate into various consumer electronics – thanks to it's small technical footprint and low hardware requirements.
At MWC, Trinamix GmbH presents an upgrade to the face authentication in collaboration with ST, which aligns with the trend of capturing health parameters using mobile devices. With the skin health demonstrator, the focus is set on skin health, especially on the face. The idea is that when logging in through face authentication, you also get information about skin texture in the same step. This way, users can react immediately and apply the appropriate skincare products. Further, early detection of skin changes could also be possible.
The face authentication offers a convenient solution as it monitors the skin daily without requiring any user interaction; the skin texture can be analyzed remotely and the measurements are precise and reliable. What makes it unique is by using laser speckle technology, one can remotely measure changes in skin texture, which allows to detect microscopic changes of skin that are otherwise invisible to the naked eye. This determines the level of roughness of one’s targeted skin area by analyzing textural features of skin’s outermost epidermal layer thereby giving skin smoothness score of interested regions.
