ONVIF, the leading standardization initiative for IP-based physical security products, announced today that the group will host two open networking receptions on Sunday, October 30 at the 13th China Public Security Expo in Shenzhen, China. The events will provide an opportunity for CPSE attendees to hear an update on ONVIF's growth and how the group achieved the milestone of more than 1,000 ONVIF conformant products available to the market.

The events at CPSE follow a successful ONVIF reception held in September at the ASIS International trade show in Orlando, Florida, USA. ONVIF hosts a series of networking receptions and public interoperability demonstrations at major security industry conferences around the world to continue the industry dialogue about the influence of standards in the physical security industry.

"The milestone of more than 1,000 conformant products available to end users and specifiers reinforces ONVIF's position as the defacto global standard recognized by the market today," said Jonas Andersson, Chairman of ONVIF's Steering Committee. "We have been able to reach this goal in just three years because of the industry's demand for a solution to interoperability issues."

Since its inception in early 2008, the group has grown to more than 340 member companies who help to develop, enhance and expand the specification into new areas, such as physical access control systems. The first ONVIF conformant product was introduced to the market in August 2009. More information about ONVIF conformant products, including the vendors and the conformant models, is available on ONVIF's website: www.onvif.org

The ONVIF networking events will be held at 10-11 a.m. and 1:30-2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, Room 314, Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center, Fuhua Third Road - Futian District, Shenzhen, China. To register, please visit http://www.regonline.com/onvifcpse.
