One of the main advantages of installing cameras on the exterior of trains is that they can help to monitor the pantograph. When there is clear footage of a problem that occurred with the pantograph, it is easy for train operators to determine when and why the pantograph malfunctioned. In order to deliver quality images, such cameras need to withstand extreme weather, corrosion, and scratches, and they should enable flexible installation and easy maintenance.
