A Fresh Start at Geutebrück: New Investors – Katharina Geutebrück Leaves the Company
German video security specialist Geutebrück is getting new owners. The investment by IBEX Wachstumspartner and the AI group Merantix is intended to accelerate the company’s growth and open up new applications in the field of AI-powered video analytics. Katharina Geutebrück and Christoph Hoffmann are leaving the company as part of the transaction.

With new investors and new leadership, Geutebrück is embarking on its next phase of development. The investment by IBEX Wachstumspartner and Merantix is intended to drive the company’s international expansion and the development of AI-based video management and analytics platforms. The family that previously owned the company is stepping back from day-to-day operations.
With over 55 years of corporate history, Geutebrück is considered one of Germany’s pioneers in the field of video security technology and is now “today ranks among the leading international providers of video management software and associated hardware solutions for the capture, aggregation, provision and AI-based analysis of video data,” according to the company’s press release.
Customers from the public sector and organisations with highly critical requirement profiles in particular rely on Geutebrueck’s high security standards and technology leadership. Beyond traditional security applications, deployment in the field of business operations is becoming increasingly important. Advances in AI make it possible, among other things, to use anonymised video data to identify efficiency potential in workflows or to improve occupational safety.
Geutebrueck sees significant potential here to expand its existing product portfolio with new AI-based applications and to extend the value of its video management platform beyond traditional security use cases. Together with IBEX, Europe’s leading AI group Merantix – co-founded by Dr. Rasmus Rothe, who also serves as Chairman of the German AI Association (KI-Bundesverband) – will invest in Geutebrueck and support the company with its expertise in the further development of AI-based applications.
As part of the transaction, Katharina Geutebrueck and her husband Christoph Hoffmann, currently co-Managing Directors, will exit all their shares and leave the company operationally. Katharina Geutebrueck has led the family business founded by her father Thomas Geutebrueck in the second generation together with her husband and, over many years, has developed Geutebrueck into a highly innovative provider of video security solutions “Made in Germany”. “It was crucial for us to place the future of Geutebrueck in good hands. We are delighted to have found in IBEX a partner who understands, shares and lives the values of German family businesses – and who at the same time supports our growth ambitions. Combined with Merantix’s AI expertise, this gives us an excellent starting position to lead Geutebrueck successfully into its next phase,” says Katharina Geutebrueck.
Tobias Huemmerich, previously Chief Technology Officer (CTO), will take over management responsibilities going forward: “I am very much looking forward to the new role. When I joined Geutebrueck seven years ago, we were already one of the industry leaders in video security technology for highly critical environments. Today we are an internationally positioned technology company that contributes to protecting critical infrastructure, public spaces and large international corporations. AI also opens up entirely new opportunities for our customers in the area of business operations. With IBEX and Merantix as our new partners, we want to make these opportunities accessible to our customers and consistently continue our path as one of Europe’s leading providers of video management software.”
IBEX and Merantix are also looking forward to the collaboration: “Data security and data sovereignty are becoming increasingly important. Video data is among the most critical – and at the same time most valuable – data being collected. We believe in the enormous potential of this video data, which extends far beyond security applications. With Geutebrueck, we are taking a stake in one of the internationally leading video management software companies, which has stood for reliability and technical excellence for many years,” says Jan Dreesen, Managing Director of IBEX Wachstumspartner. “Together with Tobias Huemmerich and his team, we will now work on further driving internationalisation and expanding the range of services offered to Geutebrueck’s customers.”
The transaction is expected to close on 31 August 2026.
