PMRExpo 2025: Europe's leading trade fair for secure communication, 5G and networking in Cologne
PMRExpo 2025, the leading European trade fair for secure communication, will open its doors in Cologne from November 25 to 27. With the trade exhibition, the PMRExpo Summit and the Connecting Area, it offers a unique forum and networking opportunity for secure mission-critical and business-critical mobile communications for public authorities and organizations with security tasks (BOS), operators of critical infrastructures (KRITIS) and companies from all sectors of the economy.
PMRExpo topics include BOS digital radio, 5G and 5G campus networks, control centers, cybersecurity and critical IoT. The interconnectivity of narrowband and broadband networks and the development of private broadband networks, which are usually operated by the users themselves, are particularly topical. These have become considerably more important with the LTE and, in particular, 5G standards.
Three days of innovation and industry dialog
Exhibitors from all over the world will be presenting innovations, products, solutions and applications over the three days of the trade fair. These include application solutions, control center and security technology, infrastructure elements and device accessories. The trade fair will be accompanied by the PMRExpo Summit, where top-class industry experts will present the latest technologies, security aspects and business opportunities. On the first day of the summit, 25.11., the focus will be on communication and solutions for critical infrastructures; on 26.11., the summit will be aimed specifically at BOS; on the final day, 27.11., the program will be dedicated to control centers.

Connecting Area: Presentations on 5G and 5G campus networks
In 2025, the Connecting Area will once again host compact talks, presentations and networking - the focus of the stage will be on private 5G broadband networks (5G campus networks). Experts and users will provide insights into application examples, challenges and solutions.
Special area 5G Hub for Private Networks
Following last year's successful launch, there will once again be a special area dedicated to 5G in 2025. In the "5G Innovation Hub for Private Networks", exhibitors will demonstrate live how private 5G networks and non-public mobile networks (NPN) are setting new standards for networked applications in industry, logistics, security and critical infrastructures. Visitors will experience practical scenarios and technological innovations that increase a company's efficiency, flexibility and security while ensuring data sovereignty.
The main topics of the 5G Hub include:
- Smart manufacturing with 5G: the future of networked production
- Efficient intralogistics & smart warehousing
- Virtual & augmented reality without delay
- Controlling drones in real time
- Private 5G campus networks: networking on a new level
- Maximum security in critical infrastructures.
Hackathon: Innovative technology meets crisis
The Hackathon@PMRExpo powered by Corevas has also established itself as a successful format at PMRExpo and is entering the next round this year. Under the motto "Technology meets crisis - design the communication of tomorrow", creative minds will come together to rethink communication in crisis situations. In a 48-hour design and coding marathon, interdisciplinary teams develop AI-supported, practical and socially relevant solutions. In 2024, over 40 hackers, 120 community members and 12 exhibitors took part in the hackathon. The winning team is currently taking off with its VisionPilotTM project as part of an EXIST start-up grant.
