The Physical Security Interoperability Alliance, a global consortium of physical security providers focused on promoting the interoperability of IP-enabled devices, will host an Interoperability Reception at the ASIS International 56 th Annual Seminar & Exhibits on Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2010, at 4 p.m. This networking event, which will be held in Room A122 at the Dallas

Convention Center, is an opportunity for all industry stakeholders to view PSIA specifications in-action and witness the benefits of the PSIA systems-based approach to interoperability. Arecont Vision, Milestone and Synectics are the sponsors of this year's event.

Since its launch in 2008, PSIA has released three IP-based specifications that enable various IP devices to communicate without custom software integration. The substantial industry interest in PSIA and its standards development efforts reflects the security industry's increasing interest in IP-based devices. By holding events such as the Interoperability Reception at ASIS, PSIA provides all stakeholders, including end users, consultants and integrators, with the education necessary to facilitate widespread demand for interoperable IP technologies.

During the PSIA event at ASIS, various technology providers will demonstrate the use of PSIA specifications in networked video and access control devices, and recording and video management platforms. Furthermore, PSIA's newest specification, Video Analytics, will be showcased to the industry-at-large for the first time.

"We are pleased to be participating in PSIA's Interoperability Reception this year at ASIS. Synectics' 25-year commitment to open technology standards closely aligns with PSIA's efforts and we look forward to demonstrating our latest compliant Synergy integrations with the PSIA Video Analytics specification," said John Katnic, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Synectics' North American division.
