Salto Systems together with UK Doorsets Ltd have been awarded Pas 23 & Pas 24 Secured by Design status which also encompasses BS EN 10262000, 10272000 and 122112000 European standards. The same door set configuration was also tested to BS 476 pt 22 for FD30 applications and passed with an impressive over burn margin.
Secured by Design (SBD) was established in 1989, and is owned by the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO). It is the corporate title for a group of national police projects focusing on the design and security for new & refurbished homes, commercial premises and car parks as well as the acknowledgement of quality security products and crime prevention projects.
British Standards PAS 23 & 24 establish a set of enhanced security performance criteria that door assembly hardware and security products must meet to achieve Secured by Design status. They are an attack test standard for door sets which certifies that a particular door, frame, lock and hardware set has withstood a series of physical tests based on common methods of burglary.
Simon Chapman, Sales and Commercial Director for UK Doorsets Ltd, said "As a company that is committed to quality, we place great emphasis on gaining BS and EN standards for our products. Working together with Salto Systems, who provide the electronic access handles for our door sets, has helped us earn the benefits of FD30 Fire Rated & Secured by Design Pas 23 & 24 standards. Earning this award means our quality products and consistently high standards of workmanship has been formally recognised and we are all very excited about what the future now has in store for the company."
Ramesh Gurdev, Salto Systems UK Manager, said "Secured by Design status provides formal recognition for both our companies and we are delighted to have achieved PAS 23 & 24 certification through our collaboration UK Doorsets Ltd.
