Samsung Techwin Europe has appointed Lucas Lee as its new Managing Director. He will lead the company on its way to become Europe's leading professional security manufacturer, the ambitious goal announced last year after the internal merger of the two security businesses from Samsung Techwin and Samsung Electronics.
During his almost 20 years with Samsung Techwin, Lucas Lee was responsible for the overseas sales and marketing activities of Samsung Techwin's digital camera division. Before his appointment as Managing Director at Samsung Techwin Europe, Lucas Lee directed the Overseas Sales & Marketing for Samsung Techwin's professional security division and was responsible for developing sales growth in Europe and the Americas.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr. Lee, who will be based at the European headquarter in Chertsey, UK said: "I am very happy to be heading up Samsung Techwin Europe at such an important time in the company's development. We have a great team, an exciting product range and have enjoyed massive growth over the past two years. There is, however, still much to do as we continue to work towards our goal of becoming the number one security solutions provider".
Within the last months Samsung Techwin has invested considerable R&D time and financial resources into the design and production of the new product ranges and IP/network products to enable the company to offer customers a total security solution.
Asked for his plans for the company, Mr. Lee promised to further strenghten Samsung Techwin's position: "This year will see a focus on developing our IP & solutions capabilities which will give our customers enhanced value and benefits. I want us to be a true market driven company. As such we need to ensure that we address the demands of our customers and this means that we need to invest in strengthening our organisation further. The European market is complex and the growth in popularity of IP & Network technology and integrated security solutions brings many challenges. We will therefore be taking more ownership of product development for our market and one of the first things we will do is create a European testing facility to ensure compatibility and quality of the solutions that we deploy. We will also continue with our development of 'Smart' security solutions for the consumer market."
