Senstar, perimeter intrusion detection specialist, announced its acceptance as the newest member of the Society of Chemical Manufacturers and Affiliates (SOCMA), the international trade association representing the batch, custom and specialty chemical industry.

Paul Trouten, Acting President, Senstar Inc. said: "With the enactment of CFATS regulations (Chemical Facilities Anti-Terrorism Standards), and legislation pending in the House of Representatives and Senate to extend the current standards, the chemical industry faces a wide range of demands and challenges, especially with regard to the security of their sites. We are sure we can learn a lot and contribute to the SOCMA members, based on our many years of experience in the outdoor perimeter security industry."

"We are pleased to welcome Senstar as our newest member company and look forward to their active participation in the organization," said SOCMA President and CEO Lawrence D. Sloan. "Senstar's knowledge, experience and expertise in the perimeter security sector make them a great addition to our group."

About SOCMA: The Washington-based group supports chemical manufacturers with commercial and networking opportunities, advocates for the passage of rational laws and regulation, and works to increase public confidence in the industry. SOCMA is the only U.S. based trade association dedicated solely to the batch, custom and specialty chemical industry. Since 1921, the organization has represented a diverse membership of small, medium and large chemical companies and has a global membership of more than 200 companies.
